It’s been a big month…for your moms! Because, on November 10, 2011 you slept through the night! You slept from 6:45pm to 7am and it was amazing. And you’ve pretty much done it every night since. There was one night when you woke up at 4am, probably just to see if you could still nurse – and of course you could! Then, last night, you woke up screaming at 4:15am with what we finally figured out was gas pains, which brings us to your eating. This month, we’ve added parsnips, papaya, spinach, summer squash (which you LOVED) and broccoli. We think the broccoli was the culprit behind the early morning pains, so we’re going to hold off on that one for a few more months. Your Pop grows broccoli in his garden, which your mama loves, so this just means that she does not have to share with you. 😉 Your absolute favorite foods are: butternut squash, summer squash, apples, pears and mangos. Your least favorite foods – though you’ll still eat them – are parsnips and papaya, though if we keep the papaya frozen and put a cube in your mesh feeder, you seem to enjoy it more.
You have inherited a ton of toys from your friend Britton and your cousin Will, and you play with those independently for long stretches of time. We’ve moved the coffee table out of the living room and introduced several new toys, so you now have a large area to roll around and play. It’s a blast playing with you, watching you figure things out and explore. Also, as I mentioned in the previous post, you’ve learned that you can get just about anywhere you want with barrel rolls. You’ve been rolling since 5 months, but you really just figured out that it can be a great mode of transportation. You’ve just started getting into a “plank” position and trying to get up on all fours, so perhaps you’ll be crawling by the next “monthday” update.
You’re a very inquisitive, curious baby. You study everything, and tend to hang back and try to get your head around new situations before really joining in. You’re quick to smile, but aren’t one to laugh uproariously at silly things. In fact, when your moms discover something that makes you laugh, we tend to run it into the ground. You’ll humor us about 3 times, and then get this priceless expression on your face like, “Seriously guys, it was funny at first, but it’s just not funny any more.”
We still don’t have any teeth, so we know what we’re asking for for Christmas!
We love you and are so excited about this holiday season with you.
