Happy 2 months!

Amazing how time flies when you’re having fun! In the last month, Elia has started to reveal her personality to us. That baby who never ever cried for most of the first month actually has strong convictions, opinions and vocal cords. She knows what she wants and pity the poor mamas who “guess” incorrectly.

Before she was born, Ashley and I had dreams that she was a red head. While she’s not, we suspect that the dream may have foretold of her personality, more than her appearance.

Strong, passionate dislikes include being put down…ever…and the car seat (we really need to work on this one. I’m slowly becoming terrified of getting in the car).

Some likes: Mornings (4am!), hummed lullabies, long walks in any carrier – moby, sling, becco. Get her snuggled in tight and moving and she’s as content as can be.

As far as milestones, she’s hitting them all like a champ. Smiling and melting our hearts, cooing, tracking, moving her head, etc. She’s doing exactly what she should be and we’re so very grateful for that. The sleeping schedule hasn’t changed – she sleeps from about 10pm – 2am and then she cat naps in 30 – 45 minute increments from there on out. During the day, she’s still eating about every 2 hours. A little grazer. Hey, Jillian Michaels says that’s healthier.

She is up to a whopping 8lbs, 14oz and 22.5″ long. That’s the 20th percentile for weight and 50th for height.

I swear she smiles frequently, but whenever I get behind the camera, I get this:

Where'd you go, mommy??

But as I get better at peaking around the camera, I can sometimes get this:

Working hard for the smiles.

And I just had to get one from the morning’s “shoot” in the garden. This is really the best of about 25.

Expressive Baby

Happy 2 months, angel!!
