Well, it happened! The weather guessers on the nightly news were correct and it snowed on Christmas day! Atlanta proper got about 1.5″, while we were able to enjoy up to 3″ of snow in Villa Rica. It was the first white Christmas in Atlanta since 1882!
The snowfall started at noon and kept going through nightfall. We decided to stay in Villa Rica for the whole weekend – in part so we didn’t have to get on the roads and in part because it’s much nicer to catch a snowfall in the country than it is in a town home community.
On a completely unrelated note, 2 things have been happening on the pregnancy front that leave me a little flustered. I feel a little bad bringing these things up since I haven’t even had time to gush about how awesome and lovely and amazing and magical the 2nd trimester’s been for me. However, things are definitely happening in there and I’m noticing.
For one, little girl seems to be partial to the right side of my body. We’ve been able to see and feel her there since almost the beginning. However, she’s already outgrowing this half of her duplex – and instead of spreading out horizontally, she’s wedging herself under my lower right ribs. That’s a sensation you don’t get used to. Especially when *my* getting all riled up over the Saints/Falcons game gets HER all in a tizzy. Then the kicking of the rib cage begins. I can only assume she was as annoyed by some of the calls as we were.
The other is less cute. I’ve found that bending over or twisting a certain way while lying down causes awful pain to the very base of my tailbone. Remember falling on your skates as a little kid? Or falling off the monkey bars and landing square on your bottom? It’s that bad. And once it’s been irritated, the slightest thing like walking up the stairs will kick it into full gear all over again. Yeow! What’s that all about?
Hope everyone’s Christmas was as magical as ours – white or not!
