Weekend Getaway…of Sorts

As far as job perks go, there’s one that stands out. Due to my clients’ involvement in sports sponsorships, we get to attend a lot of pretty cool games – including the SEC Championship.

Since I was going to be downtown so much this past weekend for championship-related work & events, we reserved a room at the hotel where the other sponsors were staying and decided to turn the weekend into a mini getaway. This year was SO different from past years – in no small part due to my current condition, which does not lend itself to boozing it up and ending the night at the Claremont Lounge.

Instead, we returned to the room after the game, where I discovered this:

Roses from Baba & Elia

Four red roses from Ashley & 2 pink roses from Elia.

What is normally a wild and crazy weekend ended up being a really special getaway including: getting spoiled, dinner with some good friends, and enough pillows for this pregnant chick to build a pillow fort of epic proportions. And although it wasn’t Christmas-y per se, it was an excellent way to mark the end of the craziness of the fall work season and allow me to officially welcome Christmas.

Merry Christmas, y’all!
